Selected Work

Work that stops the scroll

Most businesses know they need video. What they actually need is video with a point of view — short-form commercial content directed like little films, not ads that happen to move.

Case Study

Dodd Camera

Family-owned professional rental house and photographic store in Logan Square, Chicago. Caspar has directed their Instagram video content since April 2025.

  • 48 reels — a steady content program, not one-off posts
  • ~110,800 total views across the account's reels
  • Formats: narrative skits and film parodies, gear demos (Sony, Fujifilm, Profoto, NiSi, Saramonic, Westcott), rental and sale promos, expo and event coverage
  • The approach: every piece leads with a story or a joke; the product and the offer ride inside it

Case Study

Assembly Theatre Chicago

The theatre company Caspar co-founded in 2022. He directs all of the account's content — he shot the majority of it himself; the rest was shot by collaborators under his direction.

  • 65 total posts (31 of them reels); 80,100+ reel views
  • Reach beyond its size: 80,100+ reel views on an 829-follower account — the average reel is seen by roughly 3x the follower count, and the Streetcar sneak peek reached ~18,000 views (about 22x the audience)
  • A campaign, not posts: for A Streetcar Named Desire (2026) he built a 17-reel campaign — casting call, first table read, a cast interview series, character introductions, a tour of the site-specific performance space, backstage content, and cast Q&As during the run
  • The account's most-liked post is a still photograph (the Streetcar announcement, 154 likes) — stills are half the content program, and he directs those too

About

The person behind the camera

Welcome to my website, I'm Caspar! I'm an actor, singer, and videographer/photographer based in Chicago.

I was part of a small theatre ensemble called Workout at Wheaton College, training as an actor, singer, and theater maker. I have since founded a small theater company with fellow grads from Workout called Assembly Theatre, working as an actor, director, producer, and content creator.

As a director for hire, I bring the same storytelling to brands and arts organizations: I have directed Dodd Camera's video content since April 2025 and direct all content for Assembly Theatre Chicago, the company I co-founded — shooting the majority of it myself.

Above all, I am a storyteller. Whether it be a vocal recital, acting in a play, or creating content for social media pages, I am always striving to get the audience to see some beauty in the human condition.
